Browser and desktop are one capability here, not two separate products. The same employee can pull a list out of a web dashboard, open a desktop application to work through it, save the result in a local folder and file a summary back in your workspace, all inside a single run. That matters because real work rarely sits in one place. The jobs that eat your week are the ones crossing a browser tab, a spreadsheet and some internal tool nobody ever integrated.

Two everyday jobs are built straight on top of it. File organization reads a folder, works out what each file actually is, and files it the way you described once, so a single instruction like clean up my downloads runs the whole routine. Data entry reads a source such as a spreadsheet, a CSV export, a PDF or an email thread, opens the target system and types each record in, checking every field against the source before it submits. Anything incomplete or ambiguous is set aside and reported rather than guessed at.

Will it take an action on my behalf without asking me first?

Not on the steps that matter. Before submitting a form, completing a purchase, deleting anything or taking any other consequential action, the employee describes what it is about to do and waits for your approval, which you give or refuse from a notification. You decide which kinds of action need that check and which can run freely, and the setting holds even on scheduled runs when nobody is watching.

Does this work on Mac, Windows and Linux?

Yes. The Sistava companion app runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, and it absorbs the differences between them so your employee behaves the same on all three. Install it on each machine you want an employee to operate. The employee itself lives in Sistava, so one employee can work across several machines that each have the companion running.

Do I have to record a script or draw a workflow diagram?

No. You describe the job in plain language, the same way you would explain it to someone sitting next to you, and the employee works out the steps. There is nothing to record, no selectors to write and no flowchart to maintain. When a site or an app changes its layout, the employee reads the new screen and carries on rather than breaking.

Does my computer need to be switched on for a scheduled job to run?

For anything that touches your machine, yes. Browser control, desktop control, file organization and data entry all run through the companion app, so that machine needs to be on with the app running when the job fires. Work that only involves your connected cloud tools does not depend on your computer at all and runs whether you are at your desk or not.

How do I check what it did on my machine afterwards?

Every action taken through the companion app is recorded in the activity feed, step by step, with screenshots along the way. You can watch it happen live on the screen, or open the run later and read the pages it visited, the fields it filled and the files it moved. Nothing runs invisibly, which is what makes it reasonable to let software act on your accounts.
